Why airing down works

- Sealed roads / highway: the manufacturer's recommended pressure (check the placard).
- Gravel and dirt roads: a modest drop for comfort and grip.
- Sand: a significant drop is common to float over the surface — go lower again if you get bogged, and drive smoothly.
- Mud and rocks: a moderate drop improves grip and lets the tyre conform to obstacles.
