A standard fan tip spreads its energy across a wide arc, which is fine for dust on a bonnet and useless against moss in paver joints or set mud in a wheel arch. A turbo head spins a single pencil jet around a tight cone instead, so full pressure keeps landing on the surface while covering more ground than a fixed zero-degree tip.
Brass in the part that wears
The head is machined from brass rather than moulded from plastic, and the reason matters: the jet inside a turbo nozzle spins against its seat every second it runs, at working pressure. A soft body goes oval, the cone opens up, and the tool stops cutting. At 10 cm long it adds almost nothing to the end of a lance, the 2.5 mm orifice sets the flow it will pass, and the supplier rates it to a maximum of 4000 PSI with a noise level of 70 dB. Turbo heads are loud by design — that is the rotating jet, not a fault.
Key features
- Solid brass body: holds its bore under the spinning load that wears plastic heads out.
- Rotating pencil jet: covers a wider path than a fixed zero-degree tip.
- 2.5 mm orifice: the figure to match against your washer's output before ordering.
- 10 cm long: short enough not to unbalance a lance held at arm's length.

Check the connection before you order
- The supplier's information contradicts itself on the fitting: threaded 1/4" BSP in the specification, quick-connect in the feature list. The two are not interchangeable, and this is the most common reason a nozzle goes back.
- No compatibility with any washer brand is stated. Quick-connect standards differ between makes, so match the fitting on your own lance rather than assuming.
- Do not fit a nozzle to a machine putting out more than the nozzle is rated for, and keep the jet away from skin — a rotating pencil jet at this pressure will cut.
Worth having in the kit for jobs where the standard tips stop making progress.
