Most recoveries go wrong not because the gear was weak but because one piece was missing. No way to redirect the winch line, nothing rated to clip onto, no dampener anywhere in the vehicle. A kit solves that by making sure the whole chain of connections travels together in a single bag.
What a recovery ring changes
The recovery ring is the part that earns its place in this kit. Run the winch line through it, anchor the ring with a soft shackle, and a pull can be redirected around an obstacle or doubled back toward the vehicle. Unlike a steel snatch block there are no moving parts to seize up with grit and salt, and it weighs a fraction as much, so a failure does not send a heavy lump of metal anywhere. X-BULL supplies two UHMWPE soft shackles alongside it, which is how the ring is meant to be anchored.
The ratings X-BULL states, and what they leave out
Exactly one figure is published for this kit: X-BULL lists the recovery ring at 50,000 lb and describes that as a working load limit. No standard is named, no test basis is given, and no rating at all appears for the straps, the D-ring shackles or the soft shackles. A 50,000 lb working load limit would be extraordinary for a ring of this size and is far more consistent with a breaking figure. Treat it as an unverified supplier claim, work to the lowest-rated item in the chain, and do not let that number talk you into a heavier recovery than the situation warrants.
Key features
- Recovery ring with two soft shackles: redirect or double a winch line without a steel block.
- Winch extension strap, 3 in x 10 ft: reaches an anchor further away than the line alone allows.
- Kinetic snatch strap, 2.4 in x 30 ft: stretches under load so a lighter vehicle can move a heavier one.
- Winch damper doubles as the storage bag: one less item to leave behind on the drive out.
- Recovery tracks included: the option that avoids a strap recovery altogether.
- UHMWPE soft shackles: light enough to leave rigged, with no steel in the load path.

Safety rules that apply to every item here
- Inspect straps, shackles and the ring before each use. Cuts, chafing, glazing or stiffness mean retire it, not tape it.
- Lay the damper over the loaded line every time, on winch pulls and snatch recoveries alike.
- Everyone not driving stands well outside the arc the line would sweep if something let go.
- Connect to rated recovery points only. A tow ball, tow bar tongue, bumper bar or bolt-on bracket is not one, whatever a supplier description suggests.
- Never join two straps with a shackle, since that puts a steel projectile at the join.
- X-BULL's contents list does not itemise twelve separate pieces and does not state the D-ring shackle quantity, so check the pack against your own count on arrival.
Learn each connection at home with the vehicle stationary. The middle of a bog is a poor place to work out how a soft shackle threads.
