Most of the difficulty in a plug change lives in the last hundred millimetres. The well is deep and narrow, the socket goes in blind past a coil pack, and when the plug cracks loose it drops off and lands back down the tube. A magnetic socket on a 3/8" extension is aimed squarely at that.

Why the magnet earns its place

The magnet holds the plug on the way out and, more usefully, on the way back in, so a new plug can be started square in the thread without fingers reaching down a tube they will not fit into. That is the difference on engines where the coil sits directly over the plug and the cam cover blocks every other approach. Retention strength is never given a figure, so treat the magnet as an aid to handling rather than a grip to hang weight on.

Twelve points, or six and twelve

The spec sheet describes this two ways: suited to plugs with a 12-point profile in one line, a 12-angle sleeve, detachable 6 and 12 angle, in another. Those do not agree, so both are published. The only plug size the supplier gives is 14 mm.
