Most of the useful attachments in a shed were never built with a quick-tach back on them — a home-made grapple, an old bucket, a receiver frame someone fabricated years ago. A universal mount plate is the adapter that lets those pick up on a skid steer coupler. This one is supplied bare, ready to weld or bolt onto whatever you are converting.
The rating, exactly as the supplier gives it
Two numbers appear, one in the title and one in the body: 1360.78 kg weight capacity and 3000 lbs weight capacity. They are the same rating written in two units, and both are reproduced here without alteration. What the supplier never says is what the rating means. There is no indication of whether it is static or dynamic, whether it describes the plate alone or a plate with an attachment hanging off it, and no standard is cited anywhere. Take it as an unqualified figure and design your own margin around it.
What the plate is made from
The steel is described as 1/4 inch, laser cut, in what the supplier calls 50-grade — no standard is named alongside that, so it is their wording rather than a specification anyone can look up. The top bar is quoted at the same 1/4 inch thickness, and the title states 6.35 mm, which is the metric expression of that measurement. The finish is a high-temp spray paint for corrosion resistance; no coating thickness is published. Colour is given in the title as grey, and only one option is offered.
Fitting it is structural work
The plate is designed to mate with the universal quick-tach system found on skid steers, and with tractors using skid-steer-style couplers. Getting it onto your attachment means welding or bolting, and that is a load-bearing joint carrying whatever the loader lifts. It is not a job for a first weld. A qualified welder or fabricator should size and lay those welds, and the same person should decide bolt grade and pattern if you go that route.
Key features
- Large flat welding face: gives a fabricator room to place welds where they belong rather than where they will fit.
- Weld or bolt: both attachment methods are described, so the choice is yours and your fabricator's.
- Laser-cut edges: cut accuracy matters on a plate that has to seat squarely in a coupler.
- Painted finish: a high-temp spray coating over the steel for weather resistance.
- Quick-tach interface: matches the universal skid steer coupler pattern used across a lot of machines.
- Turns existing gear over: old buckets, grapples and shop-built frames get a modern mounting.

Before you weld it on
- Categorised on this store under automotive parts, this is in fact loader and skid steer plant equipment with no vehicle application.
- The host machine's own rated capacity governs, always. A plate rating does not increase what the loader is rated to lift, and the lower of the two figures is the one that matters.
- Welding or bolting this plate to a loader attachment is structural work. Have it done by a qualified welder or fabricator, not improvised.
- No coupler pattern dimensions are published. Compare the plate against your own quick-tach carrier and the photographs before ordering.
- Inspect the welds and any fasteners regularly. A mount plate that lets go under load puts the attachment on the ground and anyone nearby at risk.
- Keep people clear of a raised attachment and follow your machine manufacturer's guidance on adapters and home-built implements.
The plate is the easy part of this job. Line up a competent fabricator first, and check the coupler dimensions against your machine.
