Buying the work light is the easy part. Getting it onto a bull bar tube, a nudge bar or a roll cage without taking a drill to the bar is where most people stall. These are clamp brackets that grip round tubing between 25 and 30 mm, and two come in the pack.

Clamps the bar instead of drilling it

Each clamp closes around the tube and pulls up on stainless steel screws, so nothing is bored through the bar and the fastener is not the first thing to rust out. A pair of rubber inserts sits between the clamp and the tube. They stop the bracket biting through powder coat and take some of the vibration that otherwise works a light loose over a few hundred kilometres of corrugations. The bracket body is aluminium alloy.

Not only for lights

The supplier lists it for LED and HID lamps, auxiliary and fog lights, parking lights and aerials, on anything carrying a crash bar: 4WDs, SUVs, ATVs, UTVs, utes, tractors, trailers and motorbikes. Measure the tube before ordering. The supplier notes its sizes were taken by hand and can be out by 1 to 3 mm, and no load rating is published, so match the bracket to a light it can sensibly carry.
