Everything terminates in a 4-pin flat plug that mates directly with a matching splitter on the tow vehicle, with no adaptor and no joining a mixed bag of leads. That matters most on a trailer that moves between vehicles: one plug out, one plug in, and nothing left hanging.

Sealed for the ramp

The supplier rates the lamps IP67 for dust and water ingress. Lenses are translucent polycarbonate, which the supplier describes as impact and weather resistant — the relevant point being that a lens which survives a flicked stone or a dropped anchor keeps its seal, and a cracked lens fills with water in a week. Translucent rather than clear also spreads the LED output across the lens face instead of leaving a bright dot in the middle.

Enough cable for a long trailer

The harness runs 7.6 m (25 ft), long enough to reach the tail of an extended boat or car trailer without splicing in extra cable. Two mounting methods are supported: on the supplied brackets, which the supplier notes is the more stable option, or flush against a flat panel for a tidier finish on a box trailer. The supplier lists tractors, RVs, boat trailers and box trucks as intended applications.
