Seating a stubborn tyre bead with a compressor and a ratchet strap can eat an afternoon and still fail, and light truck or tractor tyres are the worst of them. A bead seater does it in one release: charge the tank, slide the barrel into the gap, press the button.
Eight litres released in under a second
The tank holds 8 L and runs at an operating pressure of 85-116 psi (5.9-8 bar), set to suit the tyre in front of you. All of that air leaves through a long duck-bill barrel positioned between rim and bead, in under a second by the supplier's figure. That sudden volume pushes the bead onto its seat so the tyre will hold air. The supplier rates it for tyres up to 22.5 inches, from motorcycles to light trucks.
Built to take the pressure it makes
The body is 3 mm aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, single-piece formed and welded at the exhaust valve, with a sprayed coating for rust and corrosion resistance. A built-in safety valve vents automatically above the supplier's stated 115-120 psi. The gauge is liquid-filled, and that damping fluid keeps the needle steady through a release instead of bouncing past a number you cannot trust.
Key features
- Push-button release: a thumb button rather than a twist collar, so the barrel stays where you aimed it.
- Large exhaust valve: wide bore for less restriction, which is what makes the fast discharge possible.
- Non-slip grip: holds steady one-handed while the other hand positions the tyre.
- Handheld 8 L tank: carry it to the tyre rather than the reverse.

Safety before you pull the trigger
- The supplier's instruction is to wear ear protection and goggles. A bead seater is loud and throws debris.
- Stay inside the stated 85-116 psi (5.9-8 bar) band; the safety valve is quoted as venting above 115-120 psi, a range rather than a single figure.
- Bead seating carries real risk. This speeds the job up; it does not replace correct tyre-fitting procedure or the judgement to stop when a tyre or rim looks damaged.
For a workshop, a farm shed or a touring kit, it turns a frustrating tyre job into a couple of seconds of noise.
