Seating a stubborn tyre bead with a compressor and a ratchet strap can eat an afternoon and still fail, and light truck or tractor tyres are the worst of them. A bead seater does it in one release: charge the tank, slide the barrel into the gap, press the button.

The gauge is liquid-filled, and that damping fluid keeps the needle steady through a release instead of bouncing past a number you cannot trust.
