Before you pour fuel through it

• Work outdoors or with good ventilation, and keep ignition sources well away. No smoking, no naked flame, no hot work light sitting over the filler.
• A metal funnel can carry static. Keep it touching the filler neck through the pour, and keep the container in contact with it as well.
• The supplier lists oils and diesel. Petrol is not named, so check with the manufacturer before using it for petrol.
• Let a hot engine cool before decanting oil into it, and wipe up spills straight away.
