Automatic car washes and low garage clearances are hard on a full-length mast. It gets bent, snapped, or left behind in the roller brushes. A stubby rod screws onto the same base and removes the problem: 3 cm tall, with three thread adapters in the box.

Aluminium and carbon fibre, because the mast lives outside

The body is aluminium alloy with carbon fibre, a combination the supplier picked for corrosion resistance rather than looks. Aluminium cannot rust the way a steel-cored whip does once its coating chips, which is the usual failure on a mast that has spent five summers exposed. The finish is listed as waterproof, UV-stable and fade-resistant, and the smooth sides give wash-bay brushes nothing to grab.

Fitment is narrower than the word universal suggests

It suits vehicles whose original aerial unscrews from a threaded base. A bonded shark fin, a windscreen-embedded aerial or a powered mast has nothing to unscrew, so those are out. Fitting is a hand-tightened screw, no tools. On reception the supplier makes broad claims but publishes no gain figure, so expect a short mast to behave like one on weak regional FM.
