Halogen H11 low beams throw a warm, muddy light that falls away not far past the bonnet, and on a dark country road that shortfall is what makes a drive tiring. This AUXBEAM S3 Pro pair swaps the filament for 3570CSP LEDs in a fan-cooled aluminium body.

Twelve 3570CSP emitters run per globe, and heat decides whether that output holds after twenty minutes or quietly drops off. The body is aviation-grade 6063 aluminium with an active fan rather than a passive fin stack, and the assembly is rated IP68. Both matter in a headlight housing, where the fan needs airflow and the seal has to cope with the moisture that finds its way into every reflector.

Sixty watts a globe, and what that asks of the car

The listing quotes 120 W and 24,000 lumens for the pair, working out at 60 W per globe against the 55 W of a standard H11 halogen. Current draw is 2.5 A with a tolerance of 0.2 A, over a 9 to 16 V range. The detachable decoder is the supplier's answer to vehicles that monitor globe current and report a fault once a filament becomes an LED.

Before you fit these

• At 60 W per globe these draw more than a standard 55 W H11 halogen. Check that the connector, wiring and housing can carry the extra load and heat before fitting.
• This is an LED retrofit into a housing built around a halogen filament. The supplier makes no statement about the resulting beam pattern, and neither does the store.
• The globe uses an active fan, so it needs clearance behind the headlight. Confirm the dust cover will still seat before ordering.
• Colour temperature is 6500 K. Confirm the lighting requirements that apply to your vehicle and state before fitting for road use.
