An air compressor's quick-connect coupler and a garden tap's water thread have nothing in common, which is the problem when it's time to blow the water out of an RV, camper, boat or trailer plumbing system before winter. This kit bridges the two: a 1/4" male quick-connect plug on the air side, a 3/4" garden hose thread (GHT) on the water side, with a ball valve in between.
Matching the air side to the water side
Each of the four brass adapters bridges a compressor's 1/4" quick-connect line to a 3/4" GHT fitting, and the kit includes both a male and a female 3/4" GHT connector so you can thread onto whichever side a tap, hose or RV inlet presents. Swap the connector, not the whole adapter, to move between a garden tap and a camper's inlet. Eight washers are included for the joints.
Ball valve controls the blow-out
Once threaded onto the water line with the plug clicked into the compressor, the ball valve's stem is what you actually operate — open it gradually rather than dumping full line pressure into fittings never built for it. The supplier does not list a maximum air-line pressure for this kit, so the ceiling is whatever your own compressor and plumbing can take.
Key features
- 1/4" quick-connect plug: clicks into a standard compressor air line.
- 3/4" GHT thread: fits garden hose, tap, sprinkler and RV/camper/boat/trailer supply threads.
- Ball valve: opens or closes airflow at the adapter.
Specifications
- Air connection: 1/4" male quick-connect
- Water connection: 3/4" GHT, male and female
- Material: brass
- Max air-line pressure: not stated by supplier
What's in the box
- 4 x adapters with ball valve, 2 x 1/4" quick-connect plugs, 2 x 3/4" GHT threads, 8 x washers
Check the thread before you connect the air line
- This kit's water side uses the American GHT sizing convention, which doesn't always line up with what's on an Australian tap or hose — test the seal on both ends before you rely on it, and start the ball valve barely open, since no maximum air-line pressure is published.
Short a fitting that lets a compressor talk to a garden-hose thread — this kit is it, four times over.
