Most RV water hardware sold online is built for the North American market, which means a thread that will not mate with an Australian tap or hose without an adapter. This inlet is the exception. Its thread is published as 1/2 inch BSP, also written G1/2, which is the standard Australian plumbing and hose fittings already use.
The thread is BSP, and for once that is good news
BSP and G designations describe the same parallel thread form, and it is the form Australian fittings are cut to. That removes the usual first obstacle with imported caravan plumbing: no adapter hunting, and no forcing an American garden hose thread onto a BSP tail in the hope that a washer takes up the difference. The internal connection pipe is given as 1/2 inch in diameter and the mounting flange as 3 inches across. A dust plug caps the inlet between hook-ups, which is worth having on a fitting that spends its life on the outside of a van.
What the check valve is there to stop
A check valve sits behind the inlet, and its stated purpose is preventing water backflow. On a van with both a mains hook-up and an onboard tank, that is what keeps park pressure from travelling back down the fill line into the tank when the two are connected at once. It is a one-way valve and nothing more. It does not reduce, cap or regulate incoming pressure, which is a pressure regulator's job at the tap end, and a van connected to a high-pressure supply still needs one. Treat them as two separate items doing two separate jobs.
Key features
- 1/2 inch BSP / G1/2: the thread form Australian fittings already use.
- Integral check valve: stops water travelling back out through the inlet.
- Dust plug: keeps the fitting clean between hook-ups.
- 3 inch flange: a published mounting diameter to compare against the existing cut-out.
- Screw-in replacement: described as replacing a failed inlet directly.

Water safety and the data gaps
- The supplier's material paragraph describes an entirely different product: it discusses portable score counters made of ABS. That text has plainly been pasted in from another listing, so nothing in it can be taken as a statement about this inlet's material or construction. We have asked the supplier for correct data.
- No potable water certification of any kind is named. Nothing here states or implies WaterMark, AS/NZS 4020, NSF listing or lead-free status, because the supplier claims none of them. If this is going onto a drinking water supply, establish that separately first.
- No pressure rating appears anywhere. Nothing sets an upper limit for the supply this inlet may be joined to, and a regulator at the tap remains your responsibility.
- The supplier notes twice that the inlet must be screwed in square to avoid leaks. Check the joint under pressure, and again a day later, before closing up any panel behind it.
The thread is the good news here; the missing material and pressure data is what to weigh against it.
