The supplier lists Model 3 from 2016 to 2025 and Model Y from 2020 to 2026, naming the Highland and Juniper updates as included. Fitment is to a 15-inch (38 cm) wheel. That is a far shorter and more specific list than most covers carry, and it should be read literally: nothing here is claimed to suit any other Tesla, any other make, or any year outside those two windows. Check your own car's build year against the list, and lay a tape across the rim if there is any doubt at all.

Warming it before it goes on

The supplier's fitting method starts with warming the cover gently — a hairdryer on its low setting, or twenty minutes in indirect sun — so the material relaxes enough to stretch over the rim without splitting at a seam. No tools, no lacing. That single step is the difference between a cover that seats properly first go and one you wrestle with for half an hour and then tear. Fitted, it adds roughly 3 mm (0.12 in) to the rim, thin enough that the wheel does not end up feeling padded.

Getting it on straight

• The fit has to be tight. Once it is on, push hard against it: the cover should not shift on the rim at all. Any movement and it goes back in the box.
• A cover free to turn under your palms is a real hazard, because what you are holding stops tracking the wheel beneath it.
• Nothing goes over the centre pad — the airbag module and the horn live behind it.
• The supplier describes the textured sections as anti-slip and as supporting controlled handling. No test or figure sits behind either statement, so neither is repeated here as a benefit of buying it.
• Confirm the stalks, the scroll wheels and every button on the wheel still operate freely with it fitted.
