An elastic strap runs across the opening, so the mitt sits against your palm rather than sliding off into the bucket. Inside is a sponge core rather than loose fibre, which is where the water-holding capacity comes from and why it springs back after repeated wringing. The cover is nylon and polyester, and it can be hand-washed or machine-washed. Rinse it and hang it to dry after each job.
