Under the fur sits a rubber ring, and that is the component doing the actual work. Short plush is what you see and what your palms land on; the moulded inner band is what clamps the sleeve to the rim underneath. Only one of those two decides whether the cover was worth buying, and it is not the fluffy one.
The tape has to read 37 or 38 centimetres
Fourteen and a half to fifteen inches, in the supplier's units. Run a tape over the outer face of your rim at its widest point and note what it says before ordering — that single figure is the whole of the fitment data for this item. Nothing about vehicles, model years, flat-bottomed rims or grip thickness appears in the source. Larger 4WDs and some older light commercials sit above 38 cm and will not take it; a smaller wheel leaves the plush slack from day one.
Four seasons, according to the supplier
The stated case for plush is temperature: a barrier between skin and a rim that has been baking behind glass all afternoon, and something warmer than bare plastic on a frosty morning. No temperature figure and no test accompany that description, so it stays attributed to the supplier and is not offered as fact. The material is named as short plush over a rubber inner ring, and the supplier also describes the pile as absorbing hand moisture. Three finishes are listed: grey, black or red.
Key features
- 37–38 cm band: the only compatibility figure published anywhere in the source.
- Rubber inner ring: gives the sleeve body and holds its shape on the rim.
- Short plush face: covers a scuffed or sun-faded wheel without a retrim.
- Three colours: grey, black or red, each a separate variant.
- Worked on by hand: no lacing, no needle, no tools named.
Specifications
- Fits wheel diameter: 14.5–15 in (37–38 cm)
- Face material: short plush
- Inner ring: rubber
- Colours: grey, black, red
- Fitting: pressed over the top of the rim and drawn down both sides by hand
- Pile depth, thickness, weight and pack contents: not published
- Note: the supplier's text refers to a "wine" coloured cover, which matches none of the three variants offered here
Check it cannot creep
- Once fitted, grip the sleeve and push it hard in the direction of rotation. It must not shift at all. Movement means the diameter is wrong and the cover should be taken straight back off.
- A sleeve free to creep is a real hazard — your hands and the rim stop agreeing about where the front wheels are pointing.
- The centre pad houses the airbag module and the horn. Nothing should overlay it.
- Confirm the indicator and wiper stalks, any paddles and any wheel-mounted buttons all still work freely with the cover on.
- Supplier copy claims anti-slip performance, palm massage and relief from driving fatigue. Not one of those three carries a figure or a test, so this page leaves all of them out.
