What this actually is, and what it is not

Read the fine print first: this is a screen-mirroring dongle for aftermarket Android car stereos. It is not Apple's CarPlay system and not Google's Android Auto. It works by installing a third-party app, which the supplier names as Kilolink, onto the head unit itself. The phone then connects over USB and its display appears on the stereo, with two-way touch control so the stereo screen drives the phone.

Wired, which is not only a drawback

Everything travels down the USB cable. That same cable charges the phone while it is connected. The supplier specifies Android 5.1 or newer on the stereo and iOS 7.1 or newer on the phone.
