You crack a fuel union open with a rag already in your hand, because whatever is in the line comes out before the spanner is off. This adapter is the joint you remake afterwards: a 6AN male flare at one end, flared externally to 1/4 inch on a 9/16 UNF thread, and a compression end at the other sized for 1/4 inch outside-diameter hardline.
Braking systems sit on the application list
The applications bullet runs six uses and an etc: refuelling systems, braking systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, engine modification and fuel delivery. Braking sits in there unqualified, with nothing behind it. No SAE J512 or J514, no DOT marking, no ADR or AS/NZS citation, no ISO or DIN number, and nothing suggesting a qualified person go near it. We endorse no such use. A brake circuit gets a pressure figure and a temperature range here, and that is the sum of it.
A pressure figure, and no way to judge how tight
Maximum operating pressure is given as 1500 PSI, near enough to 103 bar, across an operating range of -65 to 252 degrees Fahrenheit, which lands near -54 to 122 Celsius on our own arithmetic, since no Celsius figure is published. Sealing is credited to a 37 degree thread angle, and the supplier's verdict on it is: well sealed. How tight to wind it up goes unaddressed: no torque, no ferrule-setting figure, no re-use limit.
Hose in the title, hardline in the description
A 1/4 inch hose connector: that is the promise made by this product's title. What the description actually fits is hard wire of 1/4 inch outside diameter, made off by sliding tubing into the pipe nut, installing the ferrules and connecting the tubing end. Three moves, counted against the source. Turn up with rubber hose and this is the wrong part; the search title, saying hardline compression, has it right.
Key features
- 6AN male flare: a 37 degree flare face on a 9/16 UNF thread, forming the AN half of the joint.
- Quarter-inch tube end: a pipe nut and ferrules taking hardline of 1/4 inch outside diameter.
- Aluminium build: described as wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and long-lasting.
- Pressure figure printed: 1500 PSI maximum operating pressure, roughly 103 bar.
- Wide temperature window: -65 to 252 degrees Fahrenheit, said to suit high and low-temperature work.
- Straight body: an inline adapter, joining two ends in one axis with no branch off it.

Where this listing leaves a fuel or brake job
- Braking systems are claimed with no standard, no approval, no torque figure and not one safety warning. The absence itself is the disclosure, and it is left standing.
- Nothing states how tight the fitting should be done up, how the ferrules should be set, or whether either end may be undone and remade.
- The thread pitch is missing. 9/16 UNF arrives without the threads-per-inch figure that would complete it; none has been borrowed from elsewhere.
- The word hose in the product title contradicts the hard wire the description fits. The search title is accurate where the product title is not.
- The search description calls this leak-tight. The supplier's own phrase is the weaker well sealed, and on a fuel-carrying fitting we go with the weaker.
- The description gives no quantity at all, and never says whether the pipe nut and ferrules its own procedure consumes are in the packet.
- The ferrules have no material against them, and no anodising or plating is claimed for anything.
- The one caution here concerns buying rather than fitting: it asks you to measure whether the product matches your car before purchase.
- Two spacing characters have been lost, one after the colon in the pressure line and one after the colon in the temperature line. The class is Loss. It is not a Gap, since no connector vanished between surviving spaces, and it is no fusion of numerals. Neither damaged string has been reproduced.
Getting an AN line onto quarter-inch hardline, it is plain machined metal doing an ordinary job; on anything that stops a car, it turns up with a pressure number and nothing else to lean on.
