A wide trailer is hard to read at night when the indicator is one point of light two and a half metres off to the side. These lamps sweep the indicator across the width of the housing instead of blinking in place, so the driver behind gets a direction rather than a dot to interpret.

Sequential indicator, brake and running light in one housing

Three lit functions share the same lamp: a red brake and tail element, the amber indicator that flows outward rather than flashing, and a white daytime running element with a start-up animation when the ignition comes on. The lens is smoked, so none of it shows as coloured plastic when the lights are off.

Four wires, and what each one does

The supplier documents the loom plainly: black is negative, yellow drives the turn signal, red the brake, and white the daytime running element. No separate conductor is listed for a running tail light, so work out how your trailer's tail circuit is meant to connect before cutting anything. Each lamp measures 250 x 280 x 20 mm with 230 mm between the fixing holes.

• No separate tail-light conductor appears among the four wires. Confirm how your tail circuit is meant to connect before wiring in.
