Every solar install on a caravan roof ends at the same problem: two cables have to get inside, and the hole they go through is the thing that will eventually leak. Two cables, one housing

The pair of exits is the point. Positive and negative come off a panel as separate leads, and running them through a single-hole gland means either doubling up in one seal or drilling twice. This housing takes both, each through its own gland, with the supplier giving a cable diameter range of 6 mm to 12 mm. That range is the figure to check before ordering: measure the outside diameter of your own solar cable, insulation included, and confirm it sits inside the band. Two housings are supplied.

What IP68 means here, and what it does not

The supplier rates the housing IP68 and attributes that to a silicone sealing ring inside the body. IP68 is a dust and water ingress rating, nothing more. It says nothing about how the housing is bonded to your roof, and the seal between housing and roof is the joint that actually fails on a leaking install. The supplier states the fitting is installed with adhesive rather than screwed, so no roof penetration is needed for the housing itself, and does not specify which adhesive to use or supply one. Follow the sealant manufacturer's instructions for your roof material.
