Fuel line connectors are a consumable. The nylon collet inside one goes brittle with age and heat, and the first time a line is separated for a pump or filter change the old fitting often refuses to seal again. Having a replacement pair on the bench before the job starts is the difference between an afternoon and a weekend.
Three-eighths at one end, eight millimetres at the other
The supplier gives the connector diameter as 9.49 mm, which it also expresses as 3/8 inch, and states it is made to join nylon tubing with an 8 mm internal diameter. The product title puts that tubing figure differently, as 5/16 inch ID, and describes the fitting as 3/8 SAE. Those two tubing descriptions are close but not identical and neither has been converted or reconciled here — both are published as written so you can check them against the line in your own vehicle. The supplier adds that the fitting mates with 9.49 mm male connectors and suits 3/8 inch fuel tubing systems.
The elbow is what is stocked
The supplier's own text describes two shapes, a straight fitting and a 90 degree elbow, sold as a two-piece set. Only the elbow shape is carried here; the straight fitting is not offered, so nothing has to be chosen at checkout. An elbow earns its place where a line has to turn hard against a firewall or a tank flange and a straight fitting would kink the tubing, which is exactly where a chafed line eventually starts leaking.
Nylon, and what the data does and does not say
The body is nylon and carries an internal seal. The supplier describes it as tough, resistant to corrosion and to damage from fuel and other chemicals, and says it withstands high pressure and vibration and performs in extreme temperatures. None of those statements comes with a number. No pressure figure is published anywhere, no temperature range is given, and no fuel is named. That means nothing here establishes suitability for a high pressure EFI feed, and no such claim is made. If a pressure rating decides the job, ask us before ordering and we will take it up with the supplier.
Key features
- Two per set: a pair of 90 degree elbow connectors.
- 9.49 mm / 3/8 inch: the connector diameter as published by the supplier.
- Internal seal: fitted, so no separate O-ring has to be sourced.
- Push-fit release: lines separate and reconnect without cutting the tubing.
- Elbow geometry: turns a line hard without kinking the nylon.

Before you open a fuel line
- Fuel systems hold pressure even with the engine off, and releasing a connector without depressurising the system first will spray fuel. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's depressurisation procedure, disconnect the battery, and work away from any ignition source, hot exhaust or naked flame.
- Fuel work is a fire risk. Where this is unfamiliar ground, have the job done by a qualified mechanic and have the vehicle checked for leaks before it goes back on the road.
- Connector series must match exactly. A fitting that pushes on is not proof of the right series, and a mismatched pair can release under pressure. Compare the connector on your vehicle against the photographs and the published 9.49 mm figure before ordering.
- No pressure rating is published for these. On any high pressure line that is a real gap and it is stated here rather than glossed over.
- Quick connectors are treated as a service item in most workshops. The supplier does not say these may be reused, so plan on fitting new ones rather than refitting old.
Two elbows on the bench before the line comes apart, which is where they are worth having.
