An identification light bar is the strip across the back of a trailer that tells the driver behind how wide the thing actually is. On a dark highway with dust hanging in the air, that is the difference between reading you as one vehicle and reading you as a gap.
One bar covering the whole rear signalling job
Fifteen red LEDs run the length of each bar, and depending on how it is wired the unit works as a marker, running light, side marker, identification bar, stop lamp, turn signal, tail light or brake light. It runs at two intensities — low while driving, high when the brakes come on — so a single strip does what separate running and stop lamps would otherwise handle. The supplier provides a wiring diagram, which matters on a multi-function unit where one wrong lead leaves a brake light that never goes out.
Made for the weather a trailer lives in
A trailer spends its life directly behind the thing throwing up the dirt. The supplier describes the bar as waterproof and built to resist sand, dust, water and snow, though publishes no IP rating to put a number against that. Mounting is direct bolt-on, so a rear crossmember or a headboard takes it with the holes already there. Supplied in twos, covering both ends of a wide tray.
Key features

- Eight wiring functions: marker, running, side marker, identification, stop, turn, tail and brake.
- Direct bolt-on: no bracket to fabricate before it goes up.
- Wiring diagram included: the supplier provides one, which is not a given at this price.

Before you fit these
- The supplier does not describe how Style A and Style B differ. If shape or lens matters to your build, order the style you can see in the images rather than assuming they are interchangeable.
- The voltage range is stated two ways — 12-24 V in the title, 10-30 V in the listing body. Check your supply against the lower figure before wiring in.
- These are red. Red lighting belongs at the rear of a vehicle; do not fit them facing forward.
- Position, height, spacing and colour requirements apply to rear and identification lamps on registered trailers and vary by state. Confirm the requirements that apply to your trailer and state before using it on the road.
A tidy way to bring an older trailer's rear lighting up to something visible from a distance.
