Both beams out of the one socket

The globes drop into an existing H4 socket and keep high and low beam switching, so the stalk behaves as before. The supplier lists them as CANbus ready, meaning circuitry intended to stop the vehicle reporting a lamp fault. Its own note qualifies that: some sensitive vehicles will still need a separate decoder to prevent flickering or error codes. The operating range is wide, at 9 to 32 V DC.

Heat is what kills a headlight LED

An LED running hot dims within minutes and dies within months, which makes the cooling arrangement worth more attention than the lumen figure. These use a high-speed fan behind an aluminium heat sink and draw 36 W per globe — less than the 55 to 60 W a standard H4 halogen pulls, so the wiring is not asked for more current.
