Putting a 12 volt outlet into a canopy, a tinny or a camper trailer means fitting a socket where the factory never bothered. This is a single panel-mount socket with a rubber lid, already wired to a 60 cm tail, so the only connection left to make is at the supply end.
Three current figures, none of them agreeing
The data sheet prints input at 12V-24V DC / 10A, output at 12V-24V DC / 10A, then a separate line reading maximum current 15A, and elsewhere describes a built-in fuse of 10A. Every one of those numbers is reproduced exactly as published. None carries a stated basis: nothing says whether a figure is continuous or momentary, no ambient temperature is given and no duty cycle appears. The component that physically limits the circuit is the fuse in the body, given as 10 A, and that is the sensible figure to size a device against. The 15 A line should not be read as spare capacity.
Waterproof is the supplier's word, with no rating under it
Both the title and the body text use waterproof and dustproof. What is actually described is an ABS housing with a rubber plug across the face, and the same sentence adds fireproof and high temperature resistant. No IP number appears anywhere — not for the socket, not for the cap. Without one there is nothing published about how much water, at what pressure, or from which direction the fitting has been tested against. Mount it so nothing pools on the lid, keep the cap closed when the socket is empty, and do not treat it as submersible.
Key features
- Rubber lid: closes over the face when no plug is in it.
- Pre-wired 60 cm tail: red and black flying leads, so only the supply end is terminated.
- Fuse in the assembly: stated as 10A.
- 21 mm bore: the standard inner diameter for a 12 V accessory plug.
- ABS body: the supplier's named housing material.

Before you wire it in
- Whatever circuit feeds this socket has to carry its own fuse or breaker, rated for the socket and its cable and mounted near the battery. Specifying and fitting that protection belongs to whoever does the installation. The fuse inside the assembly does not cover the supply cable.
- The supplier's entire wiring instruction is red to the appliance positive and black to negative. No cable size, terminal type or torque value is given, and none has been added. Where that is unfamiliar territory, have an auto electrician carry out the work.
- The supplier names no Australian standard, approval or compliance claim, so nothing of the sort is asserted here. Wiring rules for caravans, trailers and boats need to be confirmed separately.
- Do not draw more than the published rating through it, and never fit a bigger fuse to make a device work.
Single socket, black, on a 60 cm lead — with a 10 amp fuse doing the real limiting.
