Universal Adjustable Aluminum Alloy Car Roof Rack Cross Bars Carrier Lock

Raised roof rails look ready to carry something, but on their own they run front to back — no use to a load that needs supporting across the car. A pair of crossbars is what turns them into a working platform.

Clamps down onto raised rails

These bars suit vehicles that already have raised rails with a gap underneath, and the towers close around them. The supplier lists a maximum vehicle tower distance of 110 cm, which is the measurement to take off your own car first: rail centre to rail centre, not overall roof width. Bar length is chosen at checkout, 125 cm or 135 cm, depending on how much overhang you want for wide loads.

Shaped to keep the noise down

The section is elliptical, tapering front and rear. Square bars whistle, and on a long drive that noise wears you down faster than the fuel cost; a tapered profile carries air past with less turbulence and less drag. Construction is aluminium with plastic fittings — light enough to lift up single-handed, and free of the rust problem that catches up with coated steel once a strap buckle scratches through. A locking system with two keys secures the bars.
