The mitt holds a lot of water and foam, and the supplier lists it as absorbent to dust, dirt and oil as well.

Cuffed so it stays on a wet hand

Each mitt runs about 26 x 19 cm with an elasticated cuff, so it grips at the wrist rather than sliding off once it is heavy with water. Behind the plush sits a waterproof lining over a non-woven backing, which keeps wash water off your hand. On a cold morning with a bucket of hose water, that lining is often the difference between finishing the car and doing half of it.
