Four sensors are supplied. The receiver is not accounted for anywhere. Screw a sensor onto each tyre valve, says the fitting sentence, then plug the receiver into the vehicle's 12v accessory socket. So a receiver is something you must have before any of this works, and its arrival with the kit is the one thing never stated. No contents block exists on this listing whatever. 4x Sensors supplied is all this page ever promises to send, and the receiver surfaces exactly once, inside that instruction.
Three limits the supplier states, and they matter more than the features
Like all common tyre pressure monitoring systems, sensors only transmit data when vehicle is in motion. Suitable for use on cars, vans and utes, not recommended for Trucks, Caravans or Trailers. (Max pressure for sensors is 50psi). All three sentences are the supplier's, reproduced word for word, and for usefulness nothing else here comes near them. Taken together they say the system goes quiet whenever the vehicle stands still, that certain vehicle classes are ruled out by name, and that a sensor has a pressure ceiling.
An iPhone is assumed and no other phone is mentioned
Compatible with iOS 6.0 and above is the only compatibility statement made about the phone end. Android is absent from the product name, from the web address, from both search entries and from the description alike, and no line goes so far as to say the app cannot be had for it. The subject is simply never opened. Neither is the app given a name, a store, a link or a download step, so which one you are pairing to is something you discover after the sensors go on.
Key features
- Four external sensors: they screw onto the existing tyre valves rather than going inside the wheel.
- Bluetooth built into the system: the pairing is described as direct to the phone through a free app.
- Alerts you can set yourself: leaking, high pressure and low pressure are the three the description names.
- Powered from the accessory socket: the receiver runs off the vehicle's 12v socket.
- Anti-theft design: a bare feature-list claim, with no mechanism described behind it.
- Fits without a tyre fitter: no tyre has to come off a rim, this being what a valve-cap system is for.
Specifications
- Sensors in the system: 4
- Ceiling quoted for a sensor: 50psi
- Phone platform named: iOS 6.0 and above
- Radio used: Bluetooth
- Supply the receiver takes: the vehicle's 12v accessory socket
- Vehicles the supplier suits it to: cars, vans and utes
- Vehicles the supplier does not: Trucks, Caravans or Trailers
Things to know before you rely on it
- No accuracy figure is given, and no resolution, no tolerance and no unit other than psi appears anywhere. The 50psi is a ceiling for the sensor, not a statement of how closely it reads, so keep checking your tyres with a gauge and treat what the phone shows as an alert rather than a measurement.
- Warning turns up once, and where it does it names an app alert you can configure rather than any instruction about staying safe. Caution, danger and hazard are missing altogether.
- Nothing states what powers a sensor. No battery type, no expected life, and no word on whether a flat one can be replaced or the sensor simply gets thrown away.
- Sensor weight goes unstated and wheel balance is never raised, for a mass that ends up screwed to the outside of a spinning wheel.
- No IP figure, no weather rating and no temperature range appear, for parts that live outside the car in the road spray.
- Avoiding a blow out, better fuel use and longer tyre life are all claimed in the opening line, none of them with a figure behind it.
- You get no warranty term, no radio approval mark, and no manufacturing origin.
- The 50psi arrives bare. No tolerance is stated for it, nor for any other number printed here.
As four cap sensors that talk to a phone and shout when one softens on the road, this sets out its own limits unusually honestly. The receiver, the app and how closely it reads all stay open, and the first decides whether the box is even complete.
