Five functions from one lamp

Each panel handles the tail light, indicator, brake and reverse, with a negative return — five circuits on five colour-coded leads. The supplier's guide runs black for negative, red for brake, green for taillight, yellow for indicator and white for reversing, so each lead is identified without chasing it with a multimeter. Thirty-two LEDs do the lighting, and the draw is lower than the globes they replace, which matters when the feed runs the length of a trailer.
