Rock lights and LED pods turn up with short pigtails and no way to power them. Running four of them straight off a battery with no fuse, no relay and a switch spliced into the feed is how people end up with melted insulation behind a guard and a light that works only sometimes.
Four outputs off a single relay
The harness gives four light output leads, each around 3 m (10 ft), plus two extension wires so a run can reach along a chassis rail or across to the far side of a tray. All four feed from one 40 A power relay, which means the switch on the dash carries only the trigger current rather than the full load of the lights. The supplier's limit is stated plainly: the combined power of everything connected must stay under 80 W in total, whether that is four lights or more sharing the outputs.
Blade fuse, relay and a lit toggle
A blade fuse sits ahead of the relay and opens the circuit on an overcurrent or a short — the difference between replacing a fuse and replacing a loom. The toggle switch carries a red illuminated indicator, so a glance at the dash tells you whether the circuit is live even when the lights themselves are tucked out of sight under the sills. The supplier lists the kit as suited to any 12 V DC system, which covers most vehicles and boats.
Key features
- Four output leads: around 3 m each, enough to reach all four corners on most wheel-arch installs.
- Two extension wires: for the runs that fall short, without joining into the main leads.
- 40 A power relay: carries the load so the dash switch does not have to.
- Blade fuse protection: covers overcurrent and short-circuit faults.
- Illuminated on/off switch: red LED indicator shows the circuit state at a glance.
- 12 V DC: suits automotive and marine systems on the supplier's listing.

Before you fit these
- The supplier states the total power of all connected lights must stay under 80 W, and that exceeding it or wiring the harness incorrectly may cause a short circuit. Add up the wattage of your lights before you start.
- The supplier states professional installation is needed for this item.
- Wrap all exposed wire with electrical tape before connecting the harness to power, as the supplier instructs.
- Auxiliary lighting carries requirements covering positioning, covers and wiring. Check what applies to your build and your state before the lights are used on a public road.
- Wire gauge and the supplied fuse rating are not published, so have them checked against your intended load if you are near the 80 W limit.
A sensible starting point for a set of rock lights or pods, provided the total wattage is worked out before anything is bolted up.
