Why 6000K reads better at night

Colour temperature is not a measure of brightness; it describes how light renders what it lands on. At 6000K the beam sits at the cool end of white, near daylight, so road markings, gravel edges and stock on the shoulder separate from the background rather than blending into a warm yellow blur. The 5050 is a comparatively large emitter, far bigger than the chips used for interior lighting, which is why twelve per globe covers headlight and fog duty at 55W.
