12V RV Interior LED Ceiling Light - Boat Camper Caravan Trailer Double Dome Light

One dome light in the middle of a caravan leaves both ends dark. This fitting puts two LED panels under a single 285 mm housing, with a switch that runs either side on its own — enough to cook under, or just enough to read by without waking the person in the next bunk.

One fitting, two independent panels

Behind the lens sit two T10 wedge panels carrying 48 2835 SMD chips between them, with a three-position switch selecting the left panel, the right panel, or both. Over a dinette or a bed that is the difference between using the light and reaching for a torch. Total output is quoted at 800 lumens, and the panels are wedge modules rather than chips soldered into the housing.

Draw worth checking against your battery

Power is where the supplier's own data disagrees with itself: the feature list says 6 watts, the specification table says 6.8 watts. Both are published below as stated rather than averaged. Either way it runs on DC 12 V, which is what a caravan, camper or boat house circuit supplies. Two wires come out the back with no polarity to observe, and the nuts and screws are supplied.

Before you fit these

• This is a DC 12 V fitting. It is not for a 24 V truck circuit and not for 240 V mains — check what your house circuit actually supplies.
• The supplier does not specify a fuse rating or wire gauge. Have it run off an appropriately protected circuit rather than guessing.
• Output is 6000 K cold white. Where an interior light is visible from outside, restrictions on visible colour while driving apply and vary by state. Confirm the requirements that apply to your vehicle and state.
• It mounts to a flat, smooth surface. A ribbed or curved lining will need a backing plate.

A sound upgrade if your van still runs an incandescent dome and you would rather not watch the battery drop overnight.
