Dropping an exhaust, or holding a gearbox steady while you line the bolts up, is a two-person job unless you own a third hand. This under-hoist support stand is that third hand: a telescoping steel post on a tripod base, taking a component's weight while the vehicle itself stays up on the hoist.

Rated to 3/4 ton, and what that covers

The supplier rates it at 3/4 ton (1650 lbs) — a support capacity for one stand, not a lifting rating and not a per-pair figure. Both numbers are the supplier's own, quoted here unconverted. That puts it in component territory: exhaust runs, tailshafts, transfer cases, shock absorber work. It is not a vehicle lift and it is no substitute for axle stands. Keep well inside the rating, and never treat two stands as though their ratings add together.

A height range that reaches up to a hoist

The column travels 1.1 m to 1.8 m, or 43.3 to 70.9 inches, which is the working window between a low-slung component and a car sitting high on a two-post hoist. Pin holes in the column set the coarse height; a bearing-mounted spin handle winds on the last few millimetres, so the tray comes up snug against a loaded part without fighting a dry thread. The 12 cm tray sits under a muffler or a diff housing without wandering off.
