Handling petrol during the swap

• Drain the old tank outdoors into an approved container, away from any ignition source, and do not smoke while working.
• Petrol vapour is heavier than air and lingers. Work outside or somewhere well ventilated, and let the machine cool first.
• Disconnect the spark plug lead before disturbing the fuel system.
• Check the fuel line and grommet while the tank is off — they usually perish on the same timeline.
