Airing down at the sand track usually means squatting beside each wheel with a valve key and a gauge, guessing, checking, letting out a bit more. These screw-on deflators do it four at a time while you sort the recovery gear, and each one shuts itself off at the pressure you dialled in.

Set the pressure once, then walk away

The adjustment is a twist of the outer shell against a printed scale, anywhere from 30 PSI down to 10 PSI in 5 PSI steps, and no tools are needed to change it. Screw one onto each valve stem and air bleeds out until the target is reached, at which point the valve closes on its own. The supplier calls the tolerance +/- 2 PSI and describes the kit as a quick off-road air-down tool rather than a tuning instrument, so a gauge is still worth carrying. Stainless steel internals sit inside a nickel-plated body, which matters when the things live in a pouch full of beach sand.

Before you fit these

• Check the result with your own gauge. A +/- 2 PSI spread matters more at 12 PSI than at 30, and each unit is calibrated separately.
• Reinflate to the placard pressure before returning to sealed roads. Running highway speeds on aired-down tyres builds heat in the sidewalls.
