Leave a mower or a trail bike standing for a few weeks and the fuel drains back down the line into the tank. The next start is all cranking and no fire while the carburettor refills. A one-way valve spliced into the line stops the drain-back happening at all.
Holds the line primed while the engine sits
The valve cracks open at 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) — light enough that a gravity feed or a low-pressure lift pump pushes through without a noticeable restriction. The moment flow stops it shuts, and the column of fuel above it stays put. The supplier's working range runs 0.2–6 bar (2.9–87 psi), with a working temperature of −30 °C to 130 °C, so a summer engine bay and a frosty high-country start both sit inside it.
Anodised alloy rather than a plated finish
Each body is aluminium alloy with an anodised surface. Anodising grows an oxide layer into the metal instead of laying a coating over the top, so there is nothing to chip loose and travel down the line into a carburettor jet. The alloy keeps the fitting light too, which matters when it hangs mid-hose on nothing but two clamps.
Key features
- Pack of two: one for the machine, one for the spares tin.
- Cast flow arrow: direction is marked on the body, so there is no guessing which way round it goes.
- Low cracking pressure: opens at 0.2 bar, so gravity-fed tanks still flow properly.
- Fluids the supplier states: water, petrol, diesel and oil — methanol is specifically excluded.
Specifications

- Opening (cracking) pressure: 0.2 bar (2.9 psi)
- Working pressure range: 0.2–6 bar (2.9–87 psi)
- Working temperature: −30 °C to 130 °C
- Hose clamps: not stated as included
Before you fit this valve
- Fit it with the arrow pointing the way the fuel travels. Reversed, it simply blocks the line.
- The 6 bar ceiling sits well below the pressures a modern EFI system runs at — check what your fuel system actually operates at before splicing one in.
- Clamp both ends. The supplier recommends hose clamps and does not state that any are supplied.
- Work on a cold engine, outdoors or somewhere well ventilated, away from ignition sources, and don't smoke. Petrol vapour is heavier than air and pools around your feet.
- Catch whatever drains out in a container rather than letting it run onto hot metal, then check the joints for weeps before starting up.
- Not suitable for methanol, per the supplier.
Suits cars, boats, motorcycles, mowers and other small engines that sit between uses.
