A shed slab is the hardest-working surface on the property and the least considered. Bare concrete gives nothing back: no grip when damp, no cushion when a spanner drops.
What 3 mm of rubber changes underfoot
The roll is 3 mm thick — 0.12 of an inch — in SBR rubber, and that thickness is chosen to stay put rather than to pad. Thin, dense rubber lies flat and holds position when a tyre turns on it, which is where lighter matting rucks up.
The diamond pattern, and cleaning up after
The surface carries a 3D diamond plate pattern, the same texture used on steel tread plate and for the same reason: it breaks up a flat face so a boot or tyre can key against it. Liquid stays on top rather than soaking through, and the surface washes back clean.
Cutting it to the bay
Rubber this thin cuts with a sharp knife and a straight edge: run it out, mark, trim. The listing is sold as a 4 ft x 15 ft roll, about 1.22 m x 4.57 m, but the data sheet never restates those dimensions.
Key features
- 3 mm SBR rubber: dense enough to lie flat and stay flat when a tyre turns on it.
- 3D diamond plate texture: a keyed face for boots and tyres rather than a smooth one.
- Liquid stays on the surface: the supplier's stated behaviour is that spills do not soak through to the slab.
- Trims with a knife: cut to a bay, a bench run or a doorway without special tools.
- Washes down and goes back: described by the supplier as reusable after cleaning, even from a dirty environment.
- Black: the only colour offered.

Worth knowing before you order
The specification gives thickness, material and pattern, and stops there. There is no published figure for load, no fire rating, and nothing on resistance to oil, fuel or chemicals, so none is claimed here. If the floor sees solvents, hot work or a heavy vehicle, ask us first.
Roll dimensions are the other gap: because the data sheet does not confirm the coverage, measure your area and check the size with us if the fit must be exact. Sweep the slab clean and let it dry before the roll goes down.
For a shed floor that has never had anything on it, a 3 mm roll is a straightforward start.
