Both ends of both cables leave the factory already crimped and sealed under heat shrink, so the four lug joints in this set are crimps you will never be able to inspect again. What you can still check is the metal around them: 5 gauge copper conductor, 20 inches of it per cable, which is 508 millimetres, finished at each end with a nickel-plated copper lug drilled for a 3/8 inch stud.
Two leads, four lugs, nothing loose
The set is one red positive lead and one black negative lead. Each carries a round centre-hole terminal at either end, and the supplier is explicit that these arrive crimped rather than loose for you to fit yourself. Plating on the lugs is nickel over copper, offered against corrosion and oxidation; the jacket is PVC, and each cable end is sealed with heat shrink tubing.
No number anywhere sizes this lead
On a battery lead this needs saying plainly rather than buried. The supplier lists no continuous current rating, no voltage rating, no temperature rating for the PVC jacket, and no fuse requirement. Gauge is a conductor dimension, not a rating, so nothing in this description sizes the cable against a load, a run length or a fault current. That work has to come from your own circuit and whoever signs off the install.
The inverter nobody in the description mentions
The product title calls these power inverter cables. The supplier's own compatibility line never raises an inverter: it names cars, vehicles, RVs, solar installations, boats and electrical equipment. We publish the shorter list, because that is the one the description itself stands behind.
Key features
- Crimped before it ships: every terminal is attached at the factory, so there is no lug to press on and no tool to hire.
- 5 gauge copper conductor: the conductor is copper, which the supplier offers for power transfer rather than for any stated capacity.
- 3/8 inch centre-hole lugs: the ring drops over a 3/8 inch (M10) stud at both ends of both leads.
- Nickel over copper: the lugs are plated against corrosion and oxidation where they meet a terminal.
- Sealed ends: heat shrink tubing closes each cable end, which is as much as the supplier says about it.
- Red and black pair: the positive lead is red, the negative black, so polarity is legible before you touch a spanner.

Absent from the supplier copy
- No continuous current rating is given. A cable of this gauge exists to carry starter-order current, and this listing puts no ampere figure against it at all.
- No voltage rating is given.
- No temperature rating is given for the PVC jacket, which matters if the run passes anywhere near an exhaust or a turbo.
- No fuse requirement appears. Protecting the positive lead is not raised at all, and no fuse size is put forward.
- No standard or certification is cited for any of the above, so there is no third-party figure to fall back on either.
- The supplier pairs 3/8 inch with M10. Those are trade equivalents, not the same dimension: 3/8 inch is 9.53 millimetres against a 10 millimetre nominal M10, so check the stud you actually have.
- Cable outside diameter and set weight are absent, which makes conduit and gland sizing guesswork.
- Neither a safety warning nor a fitting step appears anywhere in the supplier copy.
Two short made-up leads, then, for a battery-to-stud hop where 20 inches happens to suit; deciding whether the circuit around them is properly protected stays entirely on your side of the transaction.
