Twenty connectors, each made for 12 mm five-pin RGB strip and clipped on instead of soldered. The obvious question about a connector heading for an awning, a canopy or a boat deck is what happens the first time it gets rained on, and the supplier's description answers that nowhere. It makes no ingress claim of any kind, even though the listing above it sells these as waterproof.
The strip widths it will not take
The most useful sentence in this listing is a negative one, and it sits buried partway through a bullet: these do not suit 8 mm or 10 mm LED strip. Only 12 mm. Both of the refused widths are extremely common, so that single restriction settles whether the pack suits you at all, ahead of every other consideration. Measure the strip you actually own, with a rule, before ordering.
Four steps, and the last one belongs earlier
As printed, the sequence runs: feed the strip wire into the guide slot, check the positive and negative poles are the right way round, press the cover down, then align the surface pad of the strip against the pin in the connector. That is four. The fourth cannot follow the third, though, since a pad cannot be lined up with a pin once the cover is already shut. Read the alignment step as belonging before the cover closes.
Bring your own wire
These accept 22 AWG five-pin wire, solid or multi-core, and they arrive without any. The product name itself says unwired, while the supplier itself asks that you use a standard 22 AWG wire. The search description, working against both, offers the pack as though the wire came with it. Order wire separately.
Key features
- Twenty clips supplied: enough for a full run of joins and corners with spares left over for the ones you break learning.
- Pin pierces the copper: the metal pin bites through to the copper contact on the strip, which is what removes the soldering iron from the job.
- Holds through small movements: the supplier claims slight swings and pulls still leave the connection firm.
- Polycarbonate housing: PC is the named material, chosen for stiffness and for not shattering when you press the cover home.
- Five-pin layout throughout: matched to RGB strip carrying a separate line per colour plus common.
- Gapless joins: the connectors are described as butting strip sections together without a dark run between them.

Ratings that were never printed
- Waterproof is stamped across the product's name and the sell copy beneath it. The supplier's description claims no sealing and quotes no IP rating. The lesser claim is what we publish, and here the lesser claim is none at all: treat these as indoor or sheltered connectors unless you seal the join yourself.
- No voltage is quoted in the description, and no current rating either. 5V, 12V and 24V are each printed three times over further up the page, while the supplier itself states no voltage whatever. How much current one contact will pass is nowhere published.
- The search description sells the pack as having 22 AWG wires with it. The description says you supply the wire and the product's own name says unwired. That is a straight contradiction, and the wire is not included.
- The pin that does the piercing is never identified. Brass, phosphor bronze or plated steel would each behave differently over years in a damp roof space, and the page does not say which you are getting.
- The supplier's four cautions all sit inside one run-on sentence, so they are easy to miss. Reproduced unaltered: Tip: not applicable to 8 mm/ 0.31 inch or 10 mm/ 0.4 inch LED strips; Please use a standard 22 AWG wire for connection; There are some unqualified wires on the market that may result in unsuccessful connection; When the connection is unsuccessful, please observe whether the clip connection contacts are in contact with the copper core of the wire.
- On the good side, every millimetre-to-inch conversion printed here checks out. 12, 8 and 10 mm convert to the stated 0.47, 0.31 and 0.4 inches within rounding, so the fitment figures can be relied on even where the ratings cannot.
For joining or extending 12 mm five-pin strip without a soldering iron these do the job cleanly, and every claim about sealing, voltage or supplied wire comes from somewhere other than the supplier.
