A caravan, a boat or a farm ute usually needs a 12 volt outlet somewhere the factory never put one: in a tray, in a canopy, or beside a bunk. This is a surface-mount socket on a 60 cm lead, with a rubber cap over the face, supplied as a pair.
Ten amps, fifteen amps, and which figure to work to
Three current figures are published and they do not agree. Input and output are both given as 12V-24V DC / 10A. Maximum current is listed separately as 15A. The fuse fitted inside is stated as 10A. Those are quoted exactly as published, with no basis given for any of them, no continuous versus peak distinction and no duty cycle. The figure with something physical behind it is the fuse: at 10A, that is what will open. Size whatever you connect on the 10A figure rather than the 15A one, and if a device needs more than 10A this is not the socket for it.
Waterproof, but to no stated standard
Both the title and the description use the word waterproof, and the construction behind it is an ABS shell with a rubber cap over the socket face. No IP rating appears anywhere in the supplier's data. Not IP65, not IP67, nothing. So there is no published figure for how much water, from what direction, or for how long. Treat it as a splash and dust cover for an exposed position rather than a fitting rated for submersion, keep the cap closed when nothing is plugged in, and mount it where water drains away from the face instead of pooling on it.
Key features
- Rubber cover: caps the socket face when nothing is plugged in.

- Fuse fitted: a 10A fuse is built into the assembly.
- Two supplied: per the listing title.
- 21 mm inner diameter: the usual bore for a 12 V accessory plug.

Fusing and wiring it safely
- The circuit feeding this socket must be protected by a fuse or breaker sized for the socket and the cable, fitted as close to the power source as practical. That is the installer's responsibility and it is not optional. An unfused 12 V feed that chafes through will start a fire long before anything else notices. The 10A fuse inside the assembly does not remove the need for protection at the supply end.
- The supplier's only wiring note is that the red wire goes to the appliance positive and the black to negative. Nothing further is specified: no cable gauge, no terminal type and no torque figure. If the installation is not obvious to you, have an auto electrician do it.
- Nothing here is a claim about compliance with any Australian standard, or with the wiring rules applying to caravans, boats or trailers. Confirm that separately.
- Do not connect a device drawing more than the published rating, and never fit a larger fuse to make one work.
Two sockets, a 10 amp working figure, and a fused supply that is on you to get right.
