Line sizes rarely agree across a fuel system. The pump comes out at one size, the filter takes another, and the regulator has been chosen on price rather than on threads. A reducer bridges two of those without cutting a hose. This pair steps a 12AN female connection down to an 8AN male one, in black anodised alloy.
Both threads printed in full
The supplier publishes the thread form on each end rather than only the AN number, which is the detail worth having in front of you when you are matching against something already on the car. The inlet is AN12, given as 1-1/16x12 UNF female. The outlet is AN8, given as 3/4x16 UNF male. Those descriptions appear above exactly as written, nothing converted and nothing rounded, because an AN number on its own has caught out plenty of people ordering by eye from a photograph.
A cone, not a compound
Sealing is by a 37 degree angle, which the supplier states guarantees a positive seal at maximum operating pressures. That is its wording and its claim. The mechanism is straightforward enough: metal meets metal on a machined cone, so nothing is needed on the threads to make the joint. A PC of Teflon tape does come in the box, which is for the pipe threads elsewhere in your plumbing, not for the flare faces on this adapter. Tape on a flare thread props the cone off its seat and causes the leak it was supposed to prevent.
Two figures, and one wording problem
Maximum working pressure is given as 1500 PSI, with a working temperature range of -65º F to 252º F. Both sit here in the units the supplier printed, unconverted, and no test standard, method or certifying body is named against either, so neither has been verified. There is also a wording conflict to know about: the title calls this a reducer, while the supplier's own text calls it an expander fitting that steps up the size of a male AN flare. The threads themselves are unambiguous, so match on those.
Key features
- Two in the box: the title prints 2PCS — both ends of a run, or one held in reserve.
- AN12 female to AN8 male: both thread forms published, not just the dash sizes.
- 37 degree flare seat: metal-to-metal sealing that needs nothing on the threads.
- 6061-T6 billet aluminium: the alloy named by the supplier, with an anodised finish.
- Teflon tape in the box: one piece included for the pipe threads elsewhere in the system.

Before you fit these
- The pressure and temperature figures above are the supplier's, printed without a standard or a test method behind them. Nothing here should be read as suitability for any particular pump pressure, injection system or racing application.
- The only fuel wording in the data is the phrase quoted in the specifications. It has not been extended, and no claim is made here about diesel, methanol, any specific ethanol blend or any additive package. Check material compatibility against your own fuel before committing.
- An adapter changes the size of a joint; it does not change the rating of the hose or the fittings on either side of it. A completed assembly carries the rating of its weakest component, never that of its newest one.
- Fuel systems hold pressure after shutdown. Depressurise first, keep ignition sources clear, and pressure-test every joint before the engine is run. Give the work to a qualified person if that is not routine for you.
- Alloy threads gall when they are forced. Wind the nut on by hand, then stop the moment the cone pulls up against its seat.
Two published thread forms, one sealing angle, and a size change made without touching a hose.
