There is a film that builds on the inside of the glass that almost nobody cleans on purpose — off-gassing from the dash, salt carried home from a week on the coast, dust that settles while the vehicle sits. Every cloth measures 16 x 14 inches, or roughly 41 x 36 cm, which is big enough to fold into quarters and still give you eight fresh faces before it needs rinsing. Lint is the failure mode on glass

The supplier describes the weave as lint-free and non-abrasive, and says it leaves surfaces pristine and scratch-free with no water streaks or residue. Those are the supplier's claims, carried here as stated rather than tested by us. What holds true either way is that shedding is the specific way a cloth fails on glass: loose fibres left behind scatter light in exactly the way the haze you were removing did, which is why paper towel and worn cotton rags never quite finish the job.

Laundering them without wrecking them

The supplier states that the cloths are machine washable and hold their performance through repeated washing. One practical note the supplier does not make: fabric softener coats microfibre and destroys its absorbency, so wash them without it. Otherwise the six-pack is meant to be a standing set that gets laundered and put back into service rather than thrown away.

One caution about film and coatings

Nothing in the supplier's information says these cloths are safe on window tint film, coated glass or delicate display screens. Interior tint film scratches easily and is expensive to replace, so test a small corner first and work damp rather than dry on any film or coating.

Keep one in the door pocket and the inside of your windscreen stops being a twice-a-year job.
