The slats in a dash vent are the one part of a car interior that never really gets cleaned. A cloth cannot reach between them, a vacuum nozzle just pushes the dust further in, and every time the fan runs the lot comes back out at you. A slim double-ended tool is the only shape that works in there.

Where the supplier says to use it

• The surfaces actually named are air vents, the dash, car seats, the windscreen area, blinds, computers and keyboards. Piano-black trim, instrument lenses and touchscreens are not among them, and nothing here states it is safe on those.
• The scratch-free description is the supplier's claim about the polished bristle tips, not a tested result, and it is not repeated here as fact. Try a hidden spot first on anything glossy.
• Dust that has been picked up becomes grit. Tap the sleeve out or rinse it before it goes near a soft or shiny surface again.
• No air quality or allergy benefit is claimed. This is a dusting tool and nothing more.
