Order of connection matters

• Red to the flat post first, red to the donor, black to the donor, then the last black clamp onto solid unpainted metal on the flat vehicle, well away from the battery. Undo in the opposite sequence.

• Do not attempt a jump start on a battery that is frozen, split or bulging.
