Dual-battery leads, a caravan feed, a portable fridge circuit: each of them needs a joint that can be pulled apart in the dark and put back without a spanner. This grey SH350 housing is a two-pole quick connector marked by the supplier at 350 A and 600 V, with silver-plated terminals and a moulded handle.
Genderless housings, and why that saves you money
Both halves of an SH350 pair are the same moulding. There is no plug and no socket, so a shelf holding six of these can make six joints in any combination instead of forcing you to stock matched pairs. The supplier lists that reduced inventory as the reason for the design, and it also means a spare housing in the toolbox fits either side of a failed connection. Colour keying does the rest: the housings are moulded to a colour so that circuits meant to stay apart cannot be mated by accident.
The ratings, and what they do not tell you
The 350 A and 600 V figures come from the supplier and are published here exactly as given. What the supplier never states is their basis, so treat both as unqualified: nothing says whether 350 A is a continuous or intermittent rating, at what ambient temperature, or with what conductor terminated in it. Critically, a connector rating is not a cable specification. It says nothing about the size of the conductor you should run, the fuse that protects it, or the crimp that joins the two.
Key features
- Silver-plated terminals: plating is used here to hold contact resistance down as oxidation and corrosion attack the joint.
- Moulded handle: gives you something to pull on, because a high-current joint is deliberately stiff to separate.
- Rubber dust plug: caps the open face when a lead is left disconnected in a tray or an engine bay.
- Assembles either way round: the supplier states the poles can be arranged left or right to suit the run.
- Two colours on the storefront: grey and red, which lets you separate one circuit from another visually.

What's in the box
- 1 x SH350 connector
- 2 x accessories (the supplier does not say what these are)
Before this goes into a circuit
- Size the conductor to the load and the run length, never to the connector's printed number.
- Terminals must be crimped with the correct die for the lug and the cable. A poor crimp on a high-current DC joint gets hot before it fails.
- Protect the circuit with a fuse or breaker matched to the cable, close to the battery.
- High-current DC work on a vehicle is a job for a qualified auto electrician. Battery leads carry enough fault current to start a fire.
Ask us for the SH350 terminal dimensions if you already know your cable size, and we will put the question to the supplier.
