The 5 GHz band is the less crowded of the two Wi-Fi bands and has more throughput to spare, which keeps a moving map redrawing smoothly rather than stuttering a block behind you.

Before you fit this

• Only works in a car that already has wired CarPlay; it cannot add CarPlay to a head unit without it.

• Aftermarket product, not made by Apple and carrying no Apple or MFi certification.
