2-in-1 Wireless USB Car Adapter for Android CarPlay

A household running an iPhone in one pocket and an Android in the other normally needs two different dongles. This one covers both camps, converting a factory wired CarPlay or Android Auto port so either phone links up without a cable.

One adapter, both phone camps

Nothing needs installing. No companion app, no account, no driver: plug it into the factory USB port, pair once, and it finds the phone again each time the ignition comes on. Dual-band radio, and a light show

Pairing runs over Bluetooth 5.0 while the screen and audio ride on dual-band Wi-Fi at 5 GHz, which is what keeps navigation redraws in step with the road. The other trick is cosmetic: RGB LEDs in the housing pulse in time with the audio, so the unit doubles as cabin lighting where it sits on the console.

Before you fit this

• The supplier names these as not compatible: BMW, Tesla, Jeep Compass, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and every car built before 2016. Check that list against your vehicle first.
• Your car must already have factory wired CarPlay or Android Auto. The adapter converts that port and cannot create one.
• The supplier says 2016 and newer in one place, 2016 and older in another. We have gone with 2016 and newer, which its exclusion list supports.
• An aftermarket unit. It is not an Apple or Google product and holds no certification or licensing from either.

Sensible pick for a two-driver car, as long as your model is not on the exclusion list.
