Most arguments after a prang come down to one thing: nobody has footage. This recorder clamps over the rear-view mirror already fitted and covers the road ahead and behind at once, so the ten seconds that matter are saved before you stop shaking.

A mirror that shows more than a mirror can

A conventional mirror shows only what fits through the back window; headrests, luggage and passengers eat into it. The 160-degree rear lens feeds the 10-inch touchscreen instead, so the view behind is wider than the glass could manage. Select reverse and it switches to the rear camera with parking guidelines overlaid.

Low light is where cheap cameras give up

Number plates at dusk are the usual failure point. The front lens carries an F1.8 aperture, a wider opening than most budget cameras run, which puts more light on the sensor before processing has to guess. Both channels record at 1080p, front across 170 degrees and rear across 160. Loop recording overwrites the oldest unlocked clips; the G-sensor locks the current file on impact.
